The Spotlight is a 16H Bay Homozygous Tobiano Stallion. He is an APHA World Champion Jumper, a World and Rsv. World Champion Sire, AWS Supreme Stallion and an IRC Elite Stallion. He has produced foals that have been exported as stallion prospects to South Africa, New Zealand, Germany, Denmark and Canada. Spotlight is known to
-Allow a large (i.e. 16.2H mare) to produce a foal her size. Spotlight has many legitimately 17H offspring, all out of mares 16.2H or better.
-Improve feet, bone, and leg conformation on mares who need improvement in this area.
-Spotlight has excellent hooves with strong walls.
-Produce foals with very correct legs.
-Shorten the back of a longer backed mare.
-Produce an attractive-headed foal, even out of mares with plain heads.
-Add muscular, substantial hindquarter structure to foals out of mares with light hind-ends.
-Increase “thriftiness” or “easy keeper” quality in foals out of hard-keeping, high metabolism mares. Spotlight is a very easy keeper and even his TB cross foals are generally much easier keepers than their dams.
-Add “pocket pony” temperament to his foals. They are nosy, sociable and smart.
-Consistently produce a foal that is very willing and able to jump–depending on the mare, some foals are hunters and some foals are jumpers, but they’re all very athletic and love fences!
-Of course, guarantee tobiano color. Amount of white on solid color mares can vary from the very minimal tobiano to a blue-eyed 60% white tovero, and there’s no way to predict what you will get. It’s part of why seeing a Paint foal born is like unwrapping a holiday present!
