Artrageous is by the Eclipse award champion (1999) and track record setting sprinter Artax out of the accomplished Alysheba mare Treize. Trieze is the dam of Brancusi, who was 3rd in the Bluegrass Stakes (G1) before running in the Kentucky Derby in 2003. His granddam, Treizieme, was an outstanding turf mare winning G1 turf races in France and produced stakes winning foals herself.
"Arty" has outstanding conformation, is a very fancy mover with fantastic action at the trot and canter. On top of this he has the best disposition of any stallion we have ever been in contact with. He is extremely easy to ride and learns very quickly.
Arty is a minimal sabino with a white lower lip, white hair in his tail and scattered white hairs throughout his coat. He has two famous sabino stallions in his pedigree as well: Marquetry (his grandsire on his sire's side) who won over 2.8 million on the track and The Minstrel (his great grandsire on his dam's side) who won over half a million on the track.
We just love this stallion and cannot say enough about him. He has an excellent disposition and is pastured with his herd of mares.
Artrageous has proven to be an exceptionally bold eventer placing 6th in his very first Horse Trial with no cross country jumping penalties and 30 seconds under optimum time! He has moved up to Novice this fall after a sucessful three outs at Beginner Novice. We are aiming to move him up to Training this year.
