Onyx 's conformation is outstanding and with a great disposition, tons of hair, 11" of bone and the rare cream gene he was easy to choose as our herd sire. Furthermore, Onyx is by the Model palomino stallion, Romeo who stands at Villa Vanners farm in Tennessee and is very well known. His dam is the greatly respected tank of a mare, Momma Sky, who is owned by Desert Jewel Gypsy Horses in Arizona. Both of his parents are exceptional, proven producers and Onyx is the perfect example of that.Onyx's color genetics are Ee/nCr making him a smokey black. He has one black, one red and one cream gene. depending on the mare he is capable of producing palominos, buckskins, smokey blacks and MUCH more.Onyx is training in the discipline of dressage and he has blown all who see him away. His flexibility and athleticism are beyond what most horses his size can comprehend, yet he continues to excel under saddle and in dressage. He absolutely loves to have a job!In February of 2012 Onyx attended his first horse show. It was an open horse show and he was shown in-hand against 3 mature Friesians and a Friesian cross where he placed 2nd. In August of 2012 he went to his first dressage test and scored in the high 60s on every test.Onyx will stand at stud to a limited number of Gyspy, Clydesdale, Shire and Friesian mares.
