Additional Comments:
Lapis Via Arabians presents FFC Grand Sherif, a purebred Arabian blood bay stallion on lease to us from his breeder Fairfield Farm Arabians. He is open to outside breeding for the first time this year. This stallion is beautifully balanced, moves well, has a sweet temperment and is an incredible athlete.
We have enjoyed FFC Grand Sherif -- who earned the nickname “Puck” due to his playful personality -- as a pleasure riding horse. He loves trail riding and gets along well with other horses. We have shown him at Arabian shows focused on Crabbet lineage Arabs, where he has performed well. FFC Grand Sherif has been bred very lightly up until now. He has one daughter: a three year old chestnut Quarab (Quarter horse X Arabian) filly, who is a supreme athlete. This filly carries her sire’s stamp in her carriage, gait, fine head and people oriented personality.
FFC Grand Sherif should prove an excellent stallion for adding refinement, agility, endurance and good temperament. He carries both bay and chestnut color genes. He is cerified by ECAHS as 84.17% Crabbet/Blunt breeding and has *Count Dorsaz in his pedigree. FFC Grand Sherif is SCID clear. We plan to use this outstanding stallion in our own breeding program on purebred Arabian mares as well as our Welch cross pony.
Live cover is available. We plan to offer IA service in the Spring of 2008.
Breeding fees: $1000 for purebred Arabian mares. $500 introductory fee for non-Arabians. $100 booking fee included. If you have a preservation focused Arab breeding program (CMK, Crabbet, Davenport, Kellogg, etc), discounts or breeding trades considered. Mare care, IA handling and shipping fees, and other fees may apply.
Shipping Notes:
Since this is FFC Grand Sherif's first season booking outside mares, we have not previously shipped semen. If you are interested in IA, we will work with our reproductive specialist, Little Hawk Farm (http://www.littlehawkfarm.com/) for collection and shipping. We will also obtain the necessary permit so that foals can be registered with the Arabian Horse Association. You will be responsible for the cost of the IA certificate for shipping from AHA ($35), collection, handling and shipping fees (quote available before you commit), as well as your own veterinarian's fees.
