Additional Comments:
Guaranteed to Sire ONLY Dilute colored Foals! *Even with Gray mares- however there are no guarantees with Gray mares as the Foal has the potential to "gray out" and "lose the color".
2005 Registered Cremello Quarab Stallion #QB 211, sired by Colonel Leo Chex (Palomino Foundattion QH son of Colonel Zippo Pine by Colonel Freckles) and out of the beautiful Half Arabian Buckskin mare, Bint Tari Chex (who is sired by the Foundation QH stallion Tony Tari Chex and out of an Arabian Niga/Ferzon/Witez bred performance mare.) Moonstone's pedigree on BOTH sides reads like a "who's who" of some of the greatest Equine athletes of all time!
In addition to being beautiful, typey and correct Moonstone is well mannered, athletic, willing and versatile just as his pedigree predicts him to be. Along with the muscaluture, "cow-yness", athletic ability and work ethic of his Foundation Quarterhorse forefathers he also shows definite Arabian "type" in his carraige, movement, long arched neck, density of bone and "of the tent" disposition (he is by far the quietest stallion I have ever met!).
Moonstone's sire is a winner of the 2000 Breed Association "Steel Dust Award", NFQHA Versatality Champion, many time money earner in cutting, reining and working cowhorse, and earned his NFQHA Certificate of Ability. Tony Tari Chex, Moonstone's maternal grandsire also was an accomplished NRCHA Money earner. Moonstone has not yet been shown but with only a limited time under saddle he has been used quite extensively to work cattle (which he clearly enjoys!) and has put in quite a few miles on the trail in the Idaho desert.
Out of a limited number of foals it is already apparent that in addition to fabulous golden color, Moonstone's offspring have inherited is correct conformation, athletic ability and disposition. These youngsters are bred to ride and look good doing it!
Moonstone's foals (out of Arabian and Quarter Horse mares) will be eligible for Quarab registry and either Buckskin or Palomino registration. In addition, Moonstone is a Non Arabian Nominated Sweepstakes sire so his partbred Arabian foals will also be eligible for registration as Half Arabs (5/8 Arabian by blood) and can be Sweepstakes nominated.
