Additional Comments:
Hector is DNA tested by the University of Kentucky to be homozygous for the tobiano gene, and by Animal Genetic in FL to be homozygous black. He is only able to produce black and whites or bay and whites out of non-dilute mares, and his genotype reads EE aa TT.
Heaven's Gait is extremely pleased to own this fine stallion and offer him for stud. "Hector" is a beautiful and incredibly well-bred stallion. He is sired by the many times World and World Grand Champion and Horse of the Year Colors in General, who is one of the most popular spotted stallions today, and who is also a son of the great Gen.'s Major General. Hector is the only stallion out of his mother, the great Generator's Winning Colors. Winning Colors, a direct daughter of Pride's Generator, was the first spotted horse to ever win a World Championship at the TWH Celebration, and is also a full sister to the popular breeding stallion WC Generator's Color Guard. Hector himself is a full brother to Kaycee, the 2007 NSSHA Open Shod 2 Year Old WGC.
There is not another homozygous tobiano with a pedigree this great in existence - and in fact it would be difficult to find another spotted Walker with a maternal line this strong, that is not a sibling of Hector's. We feel incredibly fortunate to own this horse who we feel will be a future icon of the spotted breed just as his own sire was.
Hector already stands a full 16 hands high. He has long, straight, sound limbs, those lovely crooked hocks, a huge shoulder, hooked "show" ears, and a gorgeous refined face. He is naturally gaited and long striding, with extremely correct movement in his back end and natural head shake. He is sure to pass that on to his foals. We are expecting our first foal from Hector this May, out of our extraordinarily bred He's Puttin on the Ritz mare, Immortal Ritz.
Not only are Hector's pedigree and color genetics outstanding, and his natural talent superior, but his disposition and manners are second to none. He is able to be pastured with or directly adjacent to mares without problems. He has been out on trail rides with mares in heat and he doesn't bat an eye. He will stand calmly tied for hours and is the kind of horse you could trust a child on. He is able to be ridden bareback in a halter, and behaves just the same after a month's layoff from being ridden as he does if you were to ride him daily. He is a trail horse deluxe between his smooth, natural gait and his simply phenomenal disposition, and we expect his foals to be equally impressive on the trails as inside the rail.
We are extremely excited to offer General Hector for public stud. His foals are outstanding; all of them have his hooked ears, beautiful face, natural gaits and awesome dispositions. He is DNA tested homozygous tobiano, homozygous black and carries at least one copy of the splash gene (it is possible he is homozygous for this gene since both of his parents carried it), so his foals will not only have a ton of color but will also be able to produce a lot of color! With this genotype and bloodlines General Hector is extremely comparable to the popular breeding stallion Generator's Got Color, who is also EE aa TT and is sired by Hector's dam's full brother. Only difference is, Hector's other "half" is a WGC and Got Color's is not! At only half of Got Color's stud fee as well, Hector is one of the best deals in the industry.
