Additional Comments:
GWS Lenas Drifter is an AQHA registered 2008 red roan standing at stud for the first time in 2010. He is Homozygous for roan so he will always produce a roan foal! He is also homozgous for Agouti so he will always produce a bay roan if your mare carries a black gene (any color but sorrel) He will be taught to mount the phantom for on farm Ai, cooled/frozen shipped semen and will be breeding to a limited number of mares this next breeding season. He is Freckles Playboy and Smart Little Lena X Bill Cody, Driftwood and Jackie Bee bred. We plan to teach him as a 2 year old to mount the phantom, collect into an Artificial Vagina for Artificial Insemination and Shipped Cooled/Frozen semen across the country. Check him out and look for him in 2010 standing here at The Lewis Ranch Stallion Station to a limited book of mares for an introductory stud fee of $500 and a booking fee of $50 that goes toward that stud fee. Book early, by January 1, and save $50 off his introductory stud fee, book multiple mares or book with a friend and save another $50 each (not limited to booking to the same stallion). He is tested homozygous for Roan and Agouti so he will always throw bay roans when bred to mares that carry a black gene and throw it (bay, black, brown, buckskin) and will always throw red roans when bred to a red mare. Both his parents are roans so he may also be homozygous for roan (UC Davis testing is pending). Recent studies and genetic testing have changed some of the "old school" way of thinking with regard to roans and homozygosity and UC Davis offers a test for Roan Zygosity. He was tested by U.C. Davis and is found to be homozygous for Roan. We may consider selling this young stallion prospect for the right price.
