Holly, Michigan
Emerald Forest Thoroughbreds is situated in North Oakland County in Holly Township, Michigan. The farm was established in 1935 by Dr. Edwin Breishacher of Detroit, where he maintained an active thoroughbred and saddlebred breeding program until the onset of World War II. The farm is bordered on the south by the now-vacated Robert Jackson Thoroughbred Stable, well-known in the 1960's and 1970's for their spectacular array of thoroughbreds.
Although the barn at Emerald Forest Thoroughbreds remained devoid of horses for thirty-five years, the stalls are filled today with thoroughbred broodmares and racing prospects. Chrissy and George Kutlenios have transferred their twenty-year love of home-raised horses into the thrill of thoroughbred owning, breeding and racing.
