We are a small breeding farm. I am looking for quality mares with racing pedigree and will give special consideration on breed fee. At the farm I dont believe in mare care because of the expense. Haul in and haul out breeding is what I believe.
Your feed, your vet, your cost. This way I dont have to charge you back for these services. If a mare is not in we can keep her until bred but it is $10 per day care.
We have a $500 breed fee with $100 booking but will make a deal for race bred mares of mares that have raced. We prefer mares to come on the foal heat that way they settle right away, on the 9, 10, or 11 day after the mare has foaled.
My veterinarian has said that a $1500 breed fee wouldn't be enough because of the disposition that Shar passes on to his babys and his disposition while being handled. This goes with his handling on the farm. He knows that when he goes into a certain corral that it's time to go to work.
