Riverfield Farm is located on 60 beautiful acres in picturesque Hunterdon County NJ, between the towns of Clinton and Flemington.
We offer a quality all season training and boarding facility, and specialize in the Hunters, Jumpers, Equitation and Basic Dressage disciplines for horse and rider.
Our barn has 42 matted stalls, with three tack rooms and two wash stalls. The 70X180 indoor has rubber chip footing, a heated observation room, and freshly painted jumps. The large outdoor sand ring overlooks the surrounding hills and Grand Prix grass field, complete with obstacles, including table top bank, water jumps and a grob. There are plenty of paddocks including a huge field with turnout shed and automatic water.
We take pride in the care we provide for the horses. All horses have their unique needs, and we customize the feed and training programs to provide the best health and fitness possible. Riverfield Farm was established in 1972, and is owned and operated by Karen and Phil Da Prato
Karen has over 30 years experience in competitive riding and teaching. She is well known throughout the local horse industry. Horses have been a passion for her entire life, and continues.
As a Junior Rider, she trained with George Morris, and successfully competed in Equitation/Hunter/Jumper divisions up and down the East Coast. Karen had numerous championships including the Florida Sunshine Circuit. She also worked with Frank Chapot improving skills and rode horses Felton and Rebound in Open Speed and Grand Prix level competitions.
Karen remains active in riding, teaching and training daily. She devotes herself to helping others learn to ride, stressing the philosophy of being a complete horsemen and improving proficiency in the art of riding. Each student is encouraged to develop their own goals, and use competition as a measure of their improvement. She has led young riders to be winners and champions at the major shows including Devon, Harrisburg, Washington and Madison Square Garden.
Karen is a member of the NJPHA, the NJ Horse Show Association, the United States Equestrian Federation and is a licensed USEF Reg, R H, J, HE Judge.
