We are also a full-service horse facility offering medical and rehab care, training and colt starting, lessons and clinics, horse transport, pasture and land maintenance, and horses for sale. We provide colt starting, ground work, and basic horse training. Our basic program is two weeks of training directly with your horse, and then two weeks of training with you and your horse.
Colt Starting techniques that we specialize in:
Learning to have a halter put on.
Respectful leading.
Lunging in a circle with a lunge line.
Working in a round pen with or without a lunge line
Flagging with scary things including plastic bags, whips etc.
Desensitizing to noises, like cars, cracking whips, rattling cans etc.
Desensitizing to sights, including wheel barrows, bicycles, umbrellas, farm equipment, cars and trucks, etc.
Horse Training ground work techniques we specialize in:
Learning to safely load into and out of a horse trailer.
Learning to tie above the head and with stationary tie posts.
Standing for hoof cleaning, trimming or shoeing.
Standing for veterinarian exams, inoculations, tooth floating, etc.
Bridling and saddling including desensitizing to blankets, chest plates, martingales, back cinches etc.
Driving in long reins with a surcingle.
Bending and flexing on the ground.
