The activities are conducted and supervised by trained staff and volunteer members of the organization, and are conducted by appointment with the clientele. Appointments may be scheduled through the organization's contact phone number 559 287-3841 or by email on our web page below.
The activities will be conducted on the facilities of the Heart of The Horse Therapy Ranch, located at 14335 Academy Oaks Lane, Clovis, California 93619.
The goal of the organization activities, is to provide a beneficial experience for our clientele through education, exercise and responsibilities in the care of horses and the pleasure of the riding experience. We have found that clients that have come to the ranch have differing needs and desires, but that all who have come have benefited by the experience. One client, is a young lady that was born deaf and mute and has always had a love for horses. She has been given the opportunity to feed, groom, and ride two of our horses, and has chosen to help support the ranch through donations of hay and grain for her favorite mare. Although she has limited income, she is dedicated to helping, in a limited manner, to care for these animals. Additionally, although she is somewhat shy, she has made new friends at the ranch through their mutual love of horses, and this has enabled her to begin to be more outgoing. Prior to her coming to the ranch, the majority of her time was spent on her computer communicating almost exclusively with the deaf community. She now looks forward to coming to the ranch as often as she is able to arrange transportation.
The Heart of The Horse Therapy Ranch is dependent solely on donations from interested members of the public, clients. HHTH is a 501(c)3. Plans are being made and necessary forms and applications are being filed to broaden the ranch's fund-raising capabilities. Such plans include sales of tickets for scenic rides through the surrounding areas for motorcycle enthusiasts followed by lunch or dinner. The costs of these events will be paid from the ticket sales, with the remaining proceeds used for the funding of the organization. Raffle drawings are also being considered in accordance with all applicable law.
